Intensive Care UnitScott & White Hospital - Brenham has a 5 bed intensive care unit (ICU). The ICU is a specialized area for critically ill patients who need to be monitored closely. Patients are monitored via electronic cardiac monitoring equipment. Occasionally, the equipment may make a ringing or beeping sound. There is no need for alarm - the nurses will respond accordingly. The staff is available to answer any questions or provide clarification to patients and family members at any time. Please respect the other patients in the unit and help us try to maintain a quiet environment that promotes healing. The ICU visiting hours are as follows: 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Family members may visit only two at a time; visitors may switch during that visiting hour period. Children under 10 years of age are not allowed to visit patients in ICU. Clergy may visit at any time. Please understand that no visitors are allowed in the patient room during treatments, procedures, or nursing care. Telephone callsPlease designate a family spokesperson to make communication with each family easier. The direct phone number to the ICU is (979) 830-2269. This line is open for phone calls to family members only, day or night. The phone number for the ICU Waiting Room is (979) 836-6173, extension 3288. Please keep phone calls made to this phone number to a minimum out of consideration to other families who may have loved ones in the ICU. MealsPatients in ICU have restricted diets.
