Golf Tournament

The HealthCare Classic Golf Tournament is held each fall and benefits Scott & White Hospital - Brenham. For eighteen years the HealthCare Classic has been the premier golf tournament in this area.

As a healthcare sponsor or player you can be assured that your donation will benefit your community hospital, Scott & White Hospital - Brenham. Funds raised through this annual tournament enable our hospital to continue our healthcare mission of excellence in patient care, charity care and health education.

Levels of support starting at $100 to $10,000 are available sponsorships. The different levels of support have varied benefits for each sponsor level, thus making it easy to choose a level that is right for each sponsors level of charitable giving.

Please remember that this tournament is not just about playing golf. The majority of our annual sponsors do not play golf. All gifts made through sponsorship directly benefit Scott & White Hospital - Brenham. Player’s fees pay for all tournament-related expenses.

EVENT UPDATE

The HealthCare Classic XIX was held Friday, September 30, 2011, at the Brenham Country Club in Brenham, Texas. The afternoon tournament had twenty seven teams playing in this annual “friend” and “fund” raising event. Scott & White vendors, community businesses and individuals sponsored the tournament contributing with total revenue at an all time high of $72,060.

The “ Scott & White Brenham Volunteers” also made a huge contribution to the friend raiser. Thank you to all that participated in this year’s event. Hospital Employees supporting the event were Susan Bame, Sharon Schwartz, Joan Goebel, Paula Carper, Sedonia Powell and Marty Rebne. Auxiliary Volunteers were Linda Hasten, Barbara Dietzman, Edith Lehmann and Diane Winters. Community volunteers were Gregg Appel, Jack Murski, Bill Speaker, Janie Branham & Lisa Welter from Texas Home Health with Lanella Gray and Betty Honerkamp, S&W Foundation trustees and the Brenham High School Golf Team.

A Celebration Fish Fry Supper was held immediately following the tournament for all players and sponsors with 187 in attendance. Prizes were awarded to the top three gross winners and top seven net winners of the tournament.

Scott & White Foundation Brenham was honored to have Dr. Gary Appelt serve as Honorary Chairman for the annual event. Scott & White applauds Dr. Appelt's many years as a local hospital trustee and chairman of the hospital board.
